Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan

I got there a little before 2 PM and there were about 6 or 7 sailors. Everyone said the wind had been all over the place. It had been higher earlier, and then really up and down, any or no sail size would be good depending on how you wanted to look at it. Larry was out, occasionally ripping on 6.5 M. Walt came off the water and exclaimed "It's UGLY,UGLY!" But shortly after 3 PM it picked up and filled in and the teeth chattering chop gradually built into much nicer swells. Turned out to be a great day! lasted until 5:30 PM. Sails mostly 6.5 - 7.5... and I was on 5.5 M and 85L. Sunny and the water is still "warm." Gotta be grateful for that!

I got out on our side around 9 am on a 6.5 with 100 ltres for about 2 hours. Great session here North and NorthEast are very steady and because of the fetch very nice waves. When it comes from the North though it always dies off around noon as it warms up and then comes back again later in the day as it cools off. If we get clouds covering the sun in this direction it keeps the wind stronger as it does not get quite as warm. I wanted to go back out later that day but alas I had to work and Ann has a cold so she said by the time she got off work she felt to ill to go in the water.

Great Stuff!!! Sounds like KP may have gone off yesterday as well. I sailed St. Christophers beach in Goderich yesterday for about 2 hours on a 6.0 andf 100 ltrs, as we were up visiting relatives on the weekend. Glad I brought a few sails with me, as there wasn't much forecast when we left Saturday morninhg.
