Michigan Windsurfing

Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan

I figured that if you like windsurfing, you might like to have one of these:

1 medium size and 1 small size skate sails and 196 page book Skate Sailing - A Complete Guide.

The sails are made from a kit, but they work great and are Free!  I've used the medium one on ice with hockey skates and on pavement with roller blades.

The boat is 14 feet long and 2 feet wide at the middle.  It has two outriggers on the back end for added stability.  It is constructed of 3/16 inch luan plywood and fiberglass.
This is not a canoe or kayak.  A person over 6 feet height or over 200 pounds weight will not fit into this boat.  One person can lift the boat but it is too heavy to carry around much and you will need a truck or trailer or otherwise ample means to transport it.

This was a design and build project, for use on the open water of a lake.  I had intended to add a foot controlled rudder and then pull the boat across water by means of a para-foil traction kite.  It is one-of-a-kind and its appearance is striking.
