Dave, I've have had some good wave sailing and surfing in Au train and bay furnace. Works well on west/northwest wind. Lake Superior is gnarly, I rigged a 6.0 in 5.0 conditions in far of staying powered through shore break and keeping upwind. The shoreline is isolated and rocky. Au train and furnace bay campground launches are sandy. I usually camp at bay furnace. The current gets skecky between bay furnace and grand island, but it has great bump and jump conditions.
