We've been eating so much humble pie in the gorge this week, that I've put on 5 lbs of belly fat. We sailed Rowena on Friday, the City Park (Jensen Beach) on Saturday and Maryhill on Sunday. Jeannie and I were overpowered on 3.0 and 4.2, respectively, the first day at Rowena and overcompensated the next day by rigging too small. I've posted the wind log for Maryhill, where we sailed Sunday. We had the sense that the winds were much higher than the log would indicate. Jeannie started on a 3.0, but was forced to sit out the afternoon because it was just too much. I was on a 4.7 and then a 4.2. The rollers at Maryhill yesterday were pretty big, and the good guys were taking advantage of them.
We had the pleasure of watching Dale Cook put on an air show. You have to see this guy to appreciate what a good sailor he really is.
