Looking for mistral mast base parts, particularly the pin that fits into a malibu (late 90 vintage) and a Competition SST.

I realize I will have to find it on line, but anyone had any luck finding the pins that fit into the mast track?

Thank you,

Is this the one that has the "twist" to lock it in place  It has a threaded body with 2 rings that snug together to set the length?

I think I have it still kicking around.

Will check and post back soon.

Yes, for the competition sst. the Malibu is basically a pin that you lock in place with a black plastic tab on it to slide the pin aIn and out. Tonight I will take a picture of it and post it.

Thanks for digging through your older parts.

I have found with referral a big brass plate....it can be used in lieu of a "stock" mast foot...you can put this below the mast track "pin" and use it for mounting a standard chinook style mast base. It works on my mistral malibu and competition sst.

Being an x-sailboard dealer (back in the 80's and 90's)I can see it working on several other brands (like F2, Tiga...) but only having a mistral here I can only say it works just fine, you just wont be able to adjust your mast track while sailing, but it beats not having a mast base at all.

At any rate here is the link: http://www.windance.com/Mistral-8mm-Mast-Track-Slider.html

Just thought I would share the link in case anyone is in the same dilemma I was in.

Old post, but I just came across it and can add some insight which might help someone.

I have one of the Competition SST mast bases (and board), but have also retrofitted with the big brass nut as suggested below.  This has worked beautifully for 5+ years and allowed me to switch to a "modern" mast base which has a 6:1 purchase....made it possible to more easily rig a modern sail for this old board.

I believe someone from the-house.com suggested this brass nut approach to me and sold me the part a number of years back.
