Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Recreational Windsurfing in/near Oakland county?
I'm a beginner / recreational windsurfer in my second year with this sport.
I'm wondering if there are any people in the Oakland county area who occasionally sail or practice on the smaller lakes around here.
I've been a few times to Pontiac lake on an afternoon or weekend. I'm sure there are better suited lakes around.
Looking for like minded people to learn from and practice with.

Jan,
Come out to Cass Lake through Dodge Park #4 when the wind is blowing W/SW. There is a great crowd of experienced windsurfers and shallow (5') water across the lake and at the launch by the park. Hope to see you there.

In case you have gotten no responses, I would suggest Dodge #4 State Park on Cass Lake, not too far from Pontiac Lake. I tired to do Pontiac Lake last year, but there appeared to be little waterfront outside of the "formal" beach, with a long hike from the parking lot. Cass is much better that way. That is the go-to spot outside of the Great Lakes around here.
