Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what might be a good spot for a beginner tomorrow in the TC/Leelanau area? I've already been out a few times this summer and I'm wondering what might be a good location without too big of waves. Thanks.

Mike: See http://www.windfinder.com/weatherforecast/traverse_city for Friday's forecast, although it's usually a bit overstated in strength. Friday morning appears to be better beginner conditions. Lower Lake Leelanau at Bingham DNR boat launch might work if you're in that immediate area, but I'd expect it to be gusty, and the shoreline difficult if you stray to far from the boat launch.
In T.C., morning at Bryant Park in the SE corner of West GT Bay has a decent beach and water depth. Once the wind turns and increases, you may have your hands full. Also, parking's tight there unless you're early.
Gilroy Roadside Park, on US31 just as you enter Acme on East GT Bay may be your best bet throughout the day. Several of us sailed the past two days there, and a few may make it there sometime Friday afternoon.
I've a Google map out there of sailing spots; you may find it helpful with suggestions.
