Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Just wondering if anyone has windsurfed on Towas Bay

About 6 times on Tawas in Michigan because it was accessible, but very mixed memories
By the map it should be something almost every wind direction, instead often a letdown for WS
Inside bay on the 'speed flats' has been too shallow for years: maybe this year with a weed fin as water is up, but if you risk it, wade far and then look out for the remaining shallow spots that come up slow, way out,. Can launch inside in deeper water at the little unamed access at very base in bay, but much work to get out unless very specific SW direction or using centerboard
Outside on Huron can look awesome on lots of directions, but for WSrs: 1st: the outer bar visible in this map... it creates a nice juicy looking break but surprise! bar is not like beach, instead nIce and cobbly and can be shallow; Broke a toe here and bumped a fin every session. 2nd, typical wind seems to be high thermals, waves look great and sparkly but wind is ?: Kiters on 12/16 scoot around while you are just barely planing with a longboard and an 8.5
Maybe someone else found the secret spot/wind combination there?
