I have an 12'6" Exocet windsup. that is excellent for beginner to advanced. and ideal for inconsistent wind. It's a breeze to tack, and I learned my first planing jibes on it. It can sup surf and flat water sup, but it leans more toward windsurfing with it's step tail and dagger board. Also has footstrap inserts. I sail it in 5 to 30MPH winds. 9m-6m conditions. its very stabile with plenty of width. It's fun to glide, sub-plane and high speed plane. Comes with two fins and the dagger. Its ridiculous fun in the waves and light wind with a small sail on Lake Michigan. asking $650. I also have a 9m and full rig that compliments the board for sale. It would be pretty big for your weight, so light wind (10mph) planing is well within your reach with this board and sail. a smaller sail would be required for anything over 12mph winds. $1000 all together and it will include everything you need to sail. Carbon Ezzy mast, Aeron aluminum boom, and I'll throw in mast extension and base. Good luck, and happy sailing!

Regards,

Chris

Randy, I come to Michigan every summer for vacation with the family and stay in Glenn (between S. Haven and Saugatuck). Usually stay 7-10 days. We bought a cottage there a few years ago and I have gear. 135L Bic Techno and a 105L Mistral Screamer. Four sails from 4.2 to 6.8 IIRC.

I would drive up to Muskegon in a heartbeat if I could sail with a group. I am really interested in seeing how to get out and sail in the waves, but I am up for anything.

I also would love to try out Muskegon. I am not experienced with waves and shore break and definately feel safer and have more fun with other windsurfers around. I enjoy light wind freestyle, attempting to do planing jibes very unsuccessfully and have just started windfoiling last fall. I bought a used Slingshot 125 and foil if anyone is interested in giving it a try on flat water. It’s a blast! I enjoy sharing whatever knowledge I have which sometimes exceeds my abilities as I do ABK camps…

Pam I would love to sail with you at Gun Lake. I scouted it out last summer but the wind did not cooperate for me. I have heard that it stays pretty flat for good speed runs because it is so shallow. I am trying to break 30 mph. I have hit 29.3 but need flat water to go a little faster. I also noticed that you sail all over. I would like to pick your brain about sailing destinations. Bonaire is on my list. Aruba failed me miserably. I don't what to waste that much money again. Do you have others that you sail with in the area? Most that I know of have switched to kiting.

Jim, when do you come to Michigan and for how long? Do you bring windsurfing equipment? Sailing inside the pier at B is a blast. C has shore break which I have given up on long ago. A can be great on a SW thermal when the big lake is not windy. You are definitely included. Just trying to drum up some sailors in the area.
