The cheap beach we sail out of is on the Washington side: its' just up river from Swell City at the top of the hill, look for the porta-potty LOL( downriver from the Hatchery) It's basically a turn off a small rocky rigging area and a sketchy walk down a cliff to the water. The first time they took me there I thought it was a joke.
We sailed the new park last year: it's nice but when the wind died I drifted all the way to the event site (while USWA nationals were being held) there were only about a thousand sailors and spectators to watch me do the "walk of shame". GOOD TIMES!!

I won't be going this summer unless air fares come down a bunch!! We usually stay in Hood River but travel as far as Stevenson to Arlington. We prefer cheap beach to the event site near town.
Last year the wind shut off mid-week so we drove to the Oregon coast. I would love to sail Manzanita!! It was 106' in Portland and 65' on the coast! cool mist coming off the 50' water. I had to get wet, but I didn't stay in very long!

With plane fares so high were hoping to sail Lake Michigan alot. Nothing beats sailing in the waves!
