I can help you with the water starts. Find a shallow spot at Gun Lake. Just enough for your fin and sit down and practice your starts. Trying to learn in deep water is too tiring. I practice in the shallow and can do fifty starts in the time it would take me to do a couple in deep water. If you blow the water start you can just stand up and reposition everything. When you get the feel for it then take it to the deep water.
Welcome. You are one of the closest to me in Whitehall to post. I have yet to sail Gun Lake. I am looking for people to sail with because everyone has gone to kiting. Your new board looks awesome. I just bought a used JP X-Cite Ride 135 and it sails awesome. I have only had it out once. Let me know if you want company out on the water.
