Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
These are up and running due to user support. They are a private entity not promoted by the DNR at Lexington or the MetroParks at Metro Beach. The WeatherTalkers rely on support from the people who use them. User support is needed to keep the Metro Beach WeatherTalker and Lexington Harbor WeatherTalker up and running.
Costs per year amounts to nearly $750.00 for both WeatherTalkers, unfortunately not enough is collected yearly to cover costs.
To this day I don't know of a better way to get current real time wind/weather conditions at these popular launch sites. Last year Metro Beach logged over 6000 calls while Lexington Harbor logged over 3000 calls.
Let's get the word out support is needed. If you wish to support the WeatherTalkers or have suggestions drop me an email at tjanicki@hotmail.com.
Thank you for your support in the past and hopefully in the future.
Lexington:
For those of us who use it consider donating to it. Real time conditions right at the site we sail at.
Need urgent help - In order to turn on the Lexington weather talker this year I will need $292.00 up front.
What will it cost this year to run Lexington Weather talker?
70.00 fee to turn it on and 292.00 for monthly ATT service, for months May through October.
Either 10 donations of $29.00 each or one generous donation of $292.00.
If you have not donated in the past and use it consider catching up and donate more.
Metro beach:
If you use the Metro Beach Weather Talker please consider donating to it.
Metro beach also reports the current weather conditions at Metro beach right at the site we sail at.
What are the expenses for operating at Metro beach?
Monthly ATT rates are rising, now at $37.00 per month or $444.00 yearly.
Please send me an email if you can help.

Pass this message on let's get the word out.
If you use it donate to it.
If you have a water sports business that needs promoting a sponsorship is possible.
