I have not found a larger boom yet. Though I have also not followed up on Pam's comment. I sail out of a relative's house on the lake and don't really have a way to transport the board elsewhere. I wouldn't even know where to go, on either side of the border, in terms of a popular location for windsurfing. I have seen a few out of Sandpoint beach over the years but not this year.
I can come early Thursday (before 4pm) if that works for you, but no rush, probably won't sail it this season unless I get a wet suit/dry suit and get my sail repaired.
Hi Don, I think it may be a good board for me, if not maybe I can pass it on to someone else. Your profile says you live in Windsor, do you ever cross into Detroit? If not maybe I can go there, I'm about 45 minutes from Detroit.
Ok, do you think this would be a good board for a lake? I'm not that familiar with the newer equipment. I weight around 175. I normally just sail on higher wind days but I'd like to extend my sailing days a bit, so I'm thinking of pairing it with a 7.5 for medium days and maybe 5.5 for higher wind days. I got the feeling my 6.5 was little under powered for me on some days I wanted to sail, and a little overpowered on the windiest days here.
Hmmm. Hate to admit this, but am new to this type of format (have avoided most forms (forums) of social media until today. Not sure if you received the other 2 replies I sent, so if you did, my apologies for duplication. I want to re-orientate myself to the sport but still need to get some equipment since my older equipment is and may not be compatible with the newer eqpt. Benie tells me the sails, etc are redesigned. I was hoping to use my older sails as they are in excellent shape.......worth it or not?
We actually saw the house start to go. It was in North Rodanthe. I am going to Hatteras in the Spring. I go with a group of people every Spring and Fall. Brian is doing a great job. It is a lot of work.
Oh Yeah - It would have taken 2 broken legs to keep me off the water Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday sailed a mellow 5.0 day at Metro Beach and Wednesday I got on the water again at Metro Beach. Rigged the smallest, 4.0 Ezzy to the max. Winds ranged from 25 - 46 mph. Pinched well up wind during the big blasts then during the 25-30 lulls I would head off the wind and ride the swell on what felt like effortless rides.
Very unusually smooth swell made for slashing and sending up spray that would turn into a mist and blow 40 - 50 down wind. I sailed till 5:30 the late arrivals sailed beyond sunset. Excellent Hi-Wind session.

Got a chance to try it with a 6.5 today at duck lake. It didn't like it that much. Mast track won't go far enough forward to use a 6.5. It definitely needs some punch to get it going, but once on plane, it sailed bigger than what it was. More stable and wider than my E-rock. I also like to sail a little futher out on the rail which the single back strap (that it currently has) prevented me from doing. I think fully powered on a 6.0 or 5.5 and it would come into its own. If it cranks Friday, I'll go to Lake Lansing.

I did in the day, but no I'm not the Cali one.
You guys have any good shape long boards floating around? My Mistral OD is about dead and replacement parts are hard to find these days.

Great to be a part of this group.
