"Well, I've been there 10 times.  It's one of the best places in the world to learn new things due to the shallow, warm water and consistent winds.   I'll be taking the ABK clinic with Andy Brandt."

"Cris, I've been to Tampa area, Fort Myers area (Pine Island), and Calema Windsurfing on Merrit Island.  Tampa and Merrit Island had the most windsurfers. I'm using my only time off to go to Bonaire this winter. Brian"

September 2019 Planned Trips

This post is about two upcoming windsurfing trips: boating to Pelee Island and camping at Muskegon State Park. I might write a follow up about each if there’s something interesting to say about these trips.  Thanks to those who offered nice comments on my last post about windsurfing + camping in Empire.

Camping + Windsurfing MI

Having some unused vacation days and lingering desire to somehow get sailing again. I decided to go on a quest to camp where the sailing is good, buy a new or used windsurfer, sail it and generally have a sailing vacation that's been missing from my life.

The Shop

Why buy? My windsurfing gear is about 20 years old. I got what I could afford at the time. As such that gear is old, heavy and slow. It served me well for years and years. I think it is well overdo to…

    Chris,

I hope you enjoyed Muskegon this weekend.  When I looked up the Muskegon buoy earlier today, it read 18 knots.  I had hoped to join you, but life got in the way.  For what its worth, I'm hoping to get out to Muskegon next weekend (if life does not intervene).
