Hey Rob,
I do remember the Whaler. My friend started on an Original Bic which was similar. I started on an Original Windsurfer One Design. This was back in the 80's. I got out of it also due to college, marriage and kids. I got back into it in 2006 and love it more than ever. The new equipment is so much better and easier to learn on. I can help you figure out what you need to get back into it because that is what I did. I have a similar story to you. My parent's have a cottage in Pentwater and I have spent all my summers growing up there on the beach windsurfing, sailing, etc. I fell in love with west Michigan and got a job teaching in Montague and live in Whitehall. Now I sail here, Muskegon, up at Silver Lake or on Lake Michigan at our cottage. As far as equipment goes the only place that I know that stocks windsurfing equipment on this side of the state is sailsport marine in Traverse City. Otherwise there is Mary in Grand Rapids who sells out of her house. I do not have her address handy but can get it for you. In the spring you could come out try out my equipent to help you get an idea what you might want to get. Too bad we have this long winter to wait through. I hope you get back into windsurfing because I would like to have someone local to sail with that has not gone to kiting.
Hey Rob,
I live in Whitehall and have started to sail White Lake. Are you talking about White Lake in Whitehall? I can't find anyone that windsurfs anymore. Do you still sail?

Welcome Rob!
