Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan

On September 28, 2009 SE Michigan windsurfing came alive after the worst September wind drought in recent memory. The Canadian front's strong westerly winds started in the dark early morning hours. After the rain squalls cleared in mid afternoon, 38 knot peak WSW gale force gusts came across the lake on the outside to greet 15+ happy, wind starved SE Michigan windsurfers sailing off of Metropolitan Beach in Harrison Township.
