I would also be curious to see a video of Pete's light wind water start. Sounds complicated:)
Hey Peter any video of that move??
Thanks Jim. You can waterstart in even less wind by flipping the board upside down and holding the sail by the mast and foot...fly the sail with the board pointed upwind and as the sail powers-up a little (lean the sail forward and sheet in a little) place your feet on the bottom of the upside down board straddling the mast (under water). Tuck into a ball and stay small as the board rolls over so you'll end up on top. Move hands to the boom and sail away.

Saw Peter Dekay (Windsport Magazine) do this years ago, he grabbed the mast low in one hand and the sail by the foot in the other hand, holding the sail almost vertical, and water started in almost no wind also.
Ron was using a RRD 113 L board. I heard you could use the mast for leverage which raises the sail higher
to capture more wind. Now Ron was able to capture the extremely light wind water start technique on video:)
Hi Jim. Just out of curiosity how many liters was the board in volume?
