Getting really used to weed fins as the depth has been very low, (what was safe last week may not be safe this week owing to surfcing obsticles) not to mention weed filaments. but I would much rather  my weed fin take a glancing blow rather than a full on hit on a pointer that would pull the bolts clear through my fin box,, yikes!! Our Friend Bernie totally destroyed a weed fin a month ago hit a rock that we did not know was there sailing a few yards away from me augggghhhh!!!!

Sounds good $4.00 works well for me. How far of a drive is Marysville?? I know it is past Port Huron. Where do you usually sail on South westerlies? Just borrowed some 4 mil wetboots from Brooke here, mine are so full of holes as to be totally useless except in warm water in unknown territory, ie)  broken glass, sharp rocks, sharp shells, etc,,

Don, Normally it will cost $4.00 for a day pass at Metro Beach. But if the gate is unattended then no need to pay just drive through. And bring your best weed fin if you come.

Marysville might be a better launch if winds are slightly west of south or 210 degrees on the wind compass.

Great! I may be coming over to sail on Thursday pending the forecast, where do you go on SW?? , I was thinking maybe Metro Beach ( Not sure how much they would charge me to get in though), or possibly to sail with Dave Simon at Crescent Yacht club!

Hi Mark. Ok i am around 175-180 lbs as well. This board seems to perform at its best in the 5.5 and 6.0 Range I do run a 6.6 on it but I am not sure if a 7.5 would feel right. perhaps with a larger fin, say 40 cm, maybe? This has been the only board of this size I have been able to do a fast tack on, haven't tried it on my new one yet,  as I missed the session yesterday because I was away. We sail primarily on Rondeau Bay and Lake St. Clair. I did sail it on Saginaw Bay last summer in some head highs and it seemed to behave. My wife and I both windsurf, so we have at least six boards to choose from consequentley this board was not used all that much and is in almost new condition except for some minor scratches in the graghics.

Yes the board is still here. I've replaced it with a new JP.
