Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
I regret to inform everyone that the Blue Lagoon Marina has been taken over by Blaz Marine and they will not offer access to the lake for non-members. If you choose to purchase a boat and rent a slip then you will have access to the lake. The Owner of the Marina has made the decision, not Blaz, and as of now, the decision seems final. I will work on them again in the summer and press for fall access.
Take care and see you soon.

That is extremely unfortunate. My guess is the owner is assuming some perceived liability whether real or not, that may apply for private property. It would be good to understand the reasoning to try and address the issue head on. E.g., if there is added liability, why can't the additional revenue of sailor fees cover it and perhaps more to make it worth the while of the property owner and marina operator.
Perhaps a compromise is possible? After discussion with community members, a marina near me created a non-boat-owner membership (at a reasonably modest annual cost) to allow access to some of their facilities (notably a swimming pool, changing facilities, picnic area, etc.). For some people it was worth the small fee, and the marina got a little money - as well as a feeling that they could control who was using their property.
Agreed. Very Unfortunate.
To clear any misunderstandings up, Blaz is leasing the marina. Blaz does not own the marina. The property owners have created guidelines for Blaz to follow. Blaz agreed to follow the guidelines.
This is really a poor decision, considering that windsurfers, like Walt and Jeff and Harry did all the work (earth moving, grass seeding, fire pit, etc) to prepare the windsurfing launch.
