Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan

This is outrageous.  You're STEALING one of my (and many other Long Island sailors) favorite windsurfers!  The Mighty Larry Hoff is what he's properly called.  Andy Brandt of ABK calls him Larry the Legend, but that's because he forgot about The Mighty...   Some things you should know:

He's an excellent freestyle

He owns some of the most beaten up sails that it's possible to rig.

Check out his longboard too (if it didn't evaporate since I last saw it)

One of the ten nicest guys in the world.

What do we get?

Theiving Michiganites!

Michael,
You can have our first draft pick, plus a used uphaul.
Larry: Welcome to the Great Lake state - aka the water winter wonderland.

I'm flattered that Michael made a blog entry about my transfer from Long Island to Michigan.

In that entry, he links to http://miwindsurfing.com/. I feel like an ambassador - strengthening

the ties between our windsurfing communities - even tho Michael uses words like "hate" :-)

I see that neither Michael nor I properly attributed the Gecko photograph. That was taken by

Long Island photographer and waterman Jeff Schultz. If you liked that photo, check out his site:

http://www.jeff-schultz.com/ or his blog: http://peconicwindsurfer.blogspot.com/

Thanks Larry, much appreciated! I've joined MI Windsurfing to follow the tale of the Mighty Larry Hoff. Oh, and pay no mind to Michael, he's a little sore from missing yesterday's winter wave sailing sesh!

Larry it is true......... You are the legend, we will miss you in New York, now you will have to go to Texas!!
Larry you are already addled! The attribution is at the end of the blog post. Lay off that lake water it's harming your vision.

Andy - I still plan to come to the May ABK camp on Long Island.

I have not yet brought my gear here. It was blowing 25 in Lansing

on Friday, but I'll wait till the water is in liquid form first ;-)

If you need us to bring your gear across 80 to Indiana or Illinois on the cross country trip we can,

Larry's gear is where it belongs...on Long Island, where we sailed 4.7's yesterday on liquid water.  Come back, Larry, come baaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Now I see what's happening.  First Michael makes a plea to get the Might Larry Hoff back.  That doesn't work.  Then the also-mighty Andy Brant mysteriously chimes in to make a second plea.  Then the schemer reveals himself again.  Bribing Andy Brandt to try to get the Mighty Larry back . . . well, that's low!

If there's ever a phase change on these Greatest of Lakes, the Mighty Larry might just like it here!
