Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Hi Michigan WindFriends,
I wanted to get some advice/opinions on wetsuit repairs. I have a nice 4/3 NP wetsuit that I am taking back with me to Cyprus for winter sailing. It has a good size tear coming down from the neck area, and as you can imagine it just gets worse as I put it on every time. Does anyone know of any good repair kits out there that I can use to patch it well enough to keep the suit? It'd be nice if it is something I can use here to fix it before I have to hop on the plane by the end of October.... As I know some of the materials out there, like the glues, may not be that airline friendly. I'd appreciate any feedback...
Thanks much,
Hazim

Hazim,
Stop at a scuba shop and get some wet suit repair cement. (You can order it online if you like.) If it's a tear, you can fix it in 10 minutes. If the suit is getting old, it might just keep tearing, but you can bring some cement back in your checked bag I think.
BTW, there are a couple kinds of glues/repair materials. The black contact cement works well on tears that you can close completely. If you have holes or tears that won't close, you can use something like neo-rez. Both are available locally at scuba shops, or you can get online at places like Isthmus:
