I have a great beginner board for both kids and adults.  It is an RRD Easy Ride L.  

It isn't super cheap but it is best beginner board I have ever taught with.

The board is short and very wide.

Volume:  200L

Fin Box:  Power Box

Center Fin:  Power Box

Soft Padded Deck

Padded Nose bumper to protect the front of the board.

 

Condition:  Used - Very Good Condition

Retail Price: $1200

My Price:  $780

I also have a Bic Nova 180L Beginner board as well.  It too has a padded deck.  Very stable, this board is best suited for kids and teens, and beginners under 180 lbs.

The board is short and very wide.

Volume:  180L

Fin Box:  Deep Tuttle

Center Fin:  A-Box

Soft Padded Deck

 

Condition:  Used - Excellent Condition

I have a few floaty and tippy boards.  They are from the mid 90's and in pretty good shape.  The price is very reasonable, 1-case of beer each.

Go for a micro brew!  Beer is such an amazing commodity.   My current favorite is Founders Double-Trouble IPA.
