Hi Gregg,
The camping at Wilderness is on a bay facing north. I windsurfed Sturgeon Bay on the south side of Wilderness State Park about 20 minutes from the campground. Several windsurfers from Harbor Springs drive up to this site whenever the wind is blowing and it is unbelievably beautiful in NW and SW winds. I'm not sure where they sail in other wind directions but you'll be unlikely to rig at the campground and find good wind without slogging quite a distance out from land.
