Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
11'8"of pure fun!!!!
My new Exocet windSUP!!! I sailed this beauty for the first time Saturday.. I was expecting a marginal 8-15 knots... I brought my wife's paddle in case it wasn't worth rigging. I couldn't resist... I rigged up my 8.0. Kicked the dagger down and motored out a 1/4 mile and found the wind! Just enough to pull'er on plane and have a blast. It was smooth! Surprisingly pretty Fast! And Huge HUGE fun!!!!! I have a feeling I'll be on this board 80% of the time next summer, and loving it! Not to mention increasing the sailable days by a huge margin!!! Oh! Almost forgot... this baby will catch the smallest waves too!!! The wind shifted briefly and gave me a side wind to the prevailing wave direction and this thing couldn't help but catch a wave!! I'm talk'n 1 footers!!! LOL! This thing will be a hoot in some onshore Lake MI stuff!!!

Thanks for the info Scott! I may need to pad the nose then. I can't bare the thought of crunching that thing. It's too pretty. I will be training two kids and the wife on this board. It's gonna see some impact :(
As for the fin, I have been looking for recommendations. Thank you. We will be using it for flat water SUPing as well as some wave sailing. I hope! The MFC K-1 looks like it will be a nice fit as well as a small fin for my lighter riders In flat water sailing. I have been bouncing between buying the TrueA wave weedgrass and the MFC Wave SC looks promising as well. Too many quality choices!

I have one of these, and the mast has been the big enemy.
The board has suffered through some very hard mast strikes
with a waterstart learning session, and then me getting caught
in some 3-foot+ breaking waves without any wind. I now have
3 dings crudely patched with ding-stick, awaiting a proper repair
next summer. I've had a great deal of fun on it. I picked up an
MFC K-one wave-fin in their biggest size at the recommendation
of Casey at reefwarriors, and from what little I can tell it seems
like a reasonable choice for waves. Have Fun!

Thanks! I'll check into it. I have to do some experimenting. Without checking yet, I'm thinking the boom head may be the biggest threat. That may be the first point of impact on the forward deck. I'll check it out and let you know. Thanks!!

If you're really thinking that you'll damage the nose, you can get dual-density foam nose protector. I got this one from NSI. In fact, I probably won't use this if you want to buy this one. (measures ~16" at the widest point)

She is a beaut'! Makes me a little nervous though. If you saw my short board's nose, you'd know why. Gonna pad the hell out if the boom for this baby.
