Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
I'm brand new to windsurfing, live on Lake Erie, and looking for a quality used board which will ease the learning process but is able to handle the choppy waves of this lake and won't require an upgrade a couple of months into the process. I'd be happy to look at a package, but the board seems to be the bottleneck toward getting started.

I have been looking for a good deal on a wide larger modern board as well. If you find one that is a good deal, snap it up for sure. The wide-ish 140L (even like up to 180L or more) boards are great once you learn how to use a harness and plane. Just as a suggestion though, I do a lot of sailing on the ocean at my family's home in Maine, and I find old longboards (with a modern sail and centerboard) to be really great on open water. They are a bit tippy compared to the wider boards, but you can't beat them for poking around in variable wind, or trying to make ground upwind. You can sometimes find them really cheap, and someone on here might have one. Just be aware of potential mast base compatibility issues on some older boards.
