Another mid week big day! Wow and August to boot. I decided Rondeau as Lake Erie was already blowing 30 at 5 am yesterday. Arrived around 9am rigged a 4.5 and 85 litre board. Wow what a treat, and warm water to boot. I think I was getting more lift off the wind than the waves, big airy, floaty jumps where the wind would get under your sail and boost you higher. I sailed till around 4 when the wind began to ebb. My only complaint was, as the day progressed the wind was rolling weeds into large clumps so you really had to keep your eyes open not to hit one as you were jibing on the outside, as once you are out of the straps if you hit a clump it would put you down.More windsurfers than kiters yesterday, over 30 mph winds thins out the kiters pretty quickly, Also I haven't seen the parking lot so full in a long, long time. Great to see.

Lot's of WS'ers and kiters at Metro Beach. For some reason, the S wind didn't want to reach into the bay, and all the wind was on the outside, forcing you to schlog out there to get it. The wind died late afternoon, and everyone de-rigged, and some left. Then, out of the blue, it came back screaming for a great after-session for those who stuck it out. I made a major mistake in advising Jeannie not to come out after work (thinking the wind was done). In the dog house today.

Funny that is what St. Clair does on a North wind on our side. Blow in the morning and pop off around noon to come back hard around 7pm. Check out the Iwindsurf.com link for wind on Wednesday night
Check out the gustline at 10pm. Dave French said there were many trees down in the park this morning, why such a huge gust differential??
