Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan

Anyone have any idea why all the experimental wind sensors on 'Wind Alert' so such high readings compared to all the others? Are these readings factual?

Don,

As I understand it, the 'experimental' wind stations are not real sensors, but virtual sensors, which are just interpolation points in the computer models.

Iwindsurf and WindAlert, like to get feedback on their predictions so they can improve the models.  If you poke around on iWindsurf you can find a place for feedback.

Soo the  virtual sensors showed up to 18 this afternoon, did that materialize or would it have been a waste of time. Off shore here and same general; direction as the current making for only powered up sailing here if that was possible, but dangerous. The general sensors didn't seem to get much above 15 or 16 mph but in the city here it blew like crazy. Driving us all nuts!!
