Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Traverse City area & Keweenaw Peninsula sites
Over the years, I've had a few folks ask about sailing spots in the Traverse City area, plus I'm quite familiar with the Keweenaw Peninsula in the UP, so I've put together this Google map as a starting point, with some notes about the locations.

Sam: I've not sailed Torch Lake, but would like to add its best spots to the map.
Brian (MI Windsurfing) & I traded offline messages, and expanding this project to all of Michigan is a long-term goal. I'd like first to look at some options and guidelines, and then expand it over the winter.

This is awesome! I've been wanting to make a trip up to the TC area, but wasn't quite sure the best places. What about Torch Lake? I know there are a couple of public places and wondering if that was windsurfing friendly... Is it possible to have others add to this map and show their local launch sites with the great descriptions as you did? I'd be willing to add mine if I could...

I thought that might be a good project while working on this one. I've not yet researched Google's new maps options, but I'd be quite willing to share editing responsibilities with anyone willing to work on it, or turn "ownership" over to MI Windsurfing.
I also realized, after the fact, that I should have posted this under "Windsurfing Launches." If you're able to, feel free to move the original post there.
