Here is part of a message from Thomas J. Knuth

Hello to all,

I would like to thank everyone who is participating and volunteering for the Lake St. Clair Wind, Water & Weather Extravaganza on April 28th.

I would like to provide some details for the participating agencies and clubs. The following explains the purpose of this event and how it will be executed:

Purpose: to draw attention to the outdoor recreation sports  that patrons will find unlimited access to at Lake St. Clair Metropark. The park features vast and abundant access to the resources needed for many green sports. A program that introduces the public to sports that thrive on access to winds, open water and weather will serve the needs of both the public and the park.

The elements of mother nature that some feel harsh are found to be desirable by others. Green sport advocates crave stiff breezes, shoreline access, smooth pavement and wide open spaces. We have invited enthusiasts from several sports to come out to Lake St. Clair Metropark to showcase their sports. We have asked that each sport enthusiast showcase the equipment, knowledge and resources needed to truly find success and enjoyment in each of their sports.

Please bring equipment to display and demonstrate to the public about your sport. Be ready to demonstrate certain parts of your sport’s “user experience” and narrate ongoing scenarios that the public might witness while you or another speak about/narrate. Consider talking about the things ideal to your sport such as perfect weather conditions, aspects of terrain that are important to the best and safe experience, talk of where to buy equipment for the sports would be most helpful [how much it might cost for equipment and supplies, where to buy it, where to seek out learning or other resources concerned with your sport]. The participants will want to know where they find clubs or associations of like minded enthusiasts, where they might find internet or library resources or how and when they might contact you to learn more, size up equipment or take a test drive outside the park’s involvement.

We can provide for your use any of these items:
