SE will work but to have a strong SE is rare. SW to W is best in my opinion and that's specking from 22 years of sailing experience at Metro.
Kiters love SE it seems to blow above the water - dome effect.

Arrived onsite at 2:00 with an onshore wind, already there were several windsurfers on the water all with 5.5 to 6.0s.

Very little boat traffic in the area. What I like about the Straits is that you can move to different locations depending on wind direction.
