Windsurfing & Stand-Up Paddleboarding in Michigan
Original Windsurfer Regatta 2014
We had a variety pack of Michigan weather for the Original Windsurfer regatta but that didn't stop us from having a very enjoyable time. Participants came from Ohio and Michigan for the August 16 Regatta, some new to windsurfing and others actively competing to win the races. I always enjoy a day with other windsurfers enjoying our beautiful water and am looking forward to attending again next year. Thanks to Ted for organizing this fun event and providing the opportunity to sail an Original Windsurfer!

Looks like fun, I wish I could have gotten up there. The Windsurfer races/parties were always a fun time... my first one was the 1979 District 5 (midwest) regionals in Oconomowoc Wisconsin.
My best finish was a 5th in one race (thanks to a daring port-tack start), right behind one of the Swatek sisters. A local guy with a big lake lot let people camp in his yard. There was probably 70-80 people racing. Wild parties where minors could drink! What a blast for a 16 year old :-)
