HI Pam,
i recognized your photo on web site. glad to see your enjoying The Wind.
Planning to take a 9 day trip to windsurf Michigan's NE lower peninsula.
The numerous launch sites in proximity to Traverse City is impressive.
I have a RV and pulling a windsurfing trailer so prefer, accessible parking, rigging and water access.
i have a few apps on phone to sort out Wind..
Interested in finding a campground that windsurfers in the area favor.
One of the local shops suggested Wilderness State Campground to the northeast.
Any thoughts? Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hard to top local knowledge.
Regards,
Gregg Anshus
Hello Pam,
Thank you for the advice. Not sure where any such popular locations would be. I sail out of a relative's house who lives on lake St. Clair near Windsor. Don't see too many windsurfers out there. Only one this year and they were down the shore a ways.
Sandpoint beach, near Peche island, has been somewhat popular (for our area - one or two people) in previous years but I have not seen anyone there this season.
