Yeah, I saw Larry and talked to him. He told me that he pretty much couldn't hold onto his 3.5 anymore. I'm sorry I missed Craig. I'll have to catch up with you one weekend.

I was there Friday. Sailed up to the park from my place on a 3.7. The ride back down was all I could handle. About an hour or so later Larry R. and Craig M. did a downwinder to my place on 3.3 and 3.5, respectively. I took a reading just before they showed up and it was blowing a steady 30+ with gusts to 40. Sailed the 3.7 again on Saturday as well, and 6.6 on Sunday. What a great weekend!

This was the second of two gale warnings on Nortnern Lake Michigan that week. I measured steady winds of 38 mph with gusts to 50. I think this second storm was more intense that the earlier one.
Both wind srorms keep me off the water, a 3.0 may have worked if the shore break didn't break it. Winds were directly onshore impossible to launch. The surfers used there bogie boards because they couldn't keep their long boards in the water due to the wind.
