Burt Lake

If you enjoy camping as a means of lodging while windsurfing, I would like to suggest Burt Lake State campground in Indian River.  The campground is just off I-75 about 25 miles south of the straits.  The campground is well maintained and the facilities are pretty good.  We were closer to the older shower/bathroom unit which needed some repair but the others were much nicer.  The campground has many wooded sites and there are sites closer to the water, but these do not have many trees and…See More

"Jeff, If you haven't sailed in a long time, it's a different sport.  The gear has changed so much - the boards and sails have more range, and you'll find the boards more comfortable."

Hi Tom:

This is Jeff Moore wanting to say hello to you after 30+ years. Looks like you are still an avid windsurfer. Do you remember the Budwiser paddle hand off on Gull Lake? That was a classic. Anyhow just wanted to say Hi. Might have to take up windsurfing myself (again). Sure was fun.

Best Regards

Jeff
